Tom Secker, 7/7 researcher, documentary filmmaker and independent news writer, discusses the ‘climate of fear’ on the Smells Like Human Spirit Podcast. His two documentaries ’7/7: Seeds of Deconstruction’ and ’7/7: Crime and Prejudice’ raise important (and unanswered) questions not only about the July 7th bombings, but also explore the precedent for Western governments to provoke, aid, or cover-up acts of terrorism in order to achieve political aims. We expound on this and more, noting why there is cause for optimism that the tactic of scaring the public may not be as potent as in generations past, and talk about what we can all do to contribute positively to society while the walls of oppressive regimes break down.
